Feb 2010. A heath service provider pleaded guilty over failures that led to the death of 20-year-old patient, who had a learning disability.
Hospital officials entered their guilty plea at Basildon magistrate court on 26 February 2010. Sentencing will be delivered at Basildon Crown Court on Monday 15 March 2010. The jury at an earlier inquest concluded that the death of the patient was contributed to by neglect when his head became stuck between the bars of his hospital bed.
The Health and Safety Executive prosecuted a heath service provider for failing to adhere to health and safety laws and failing to ensure that patients were not exposed to risks:
