 The_role_of_boards_in_improving_patient_safety,_June_2010

This publication was developed by Monitor for NHS foundation trusts, though its principles apply equally to other NHS settings. It draws on evidence and best practices from UK pilot sites, and also taps the experience of healthcare providers in other developed countries who use similar principles and approaches. The report identifies a lack of explicit relevant training in patient safety with training focused on mandatory topics like manual handling.

Related Information: LPDG achieves exceptional pass rates for candidates taking the accredited Managing Safely; a course focusing on managerial responsibility for safety and tailored for clinical and non-clinical managers working in the healthcare sector. The course focuses on practical learning as well as expert support from our trainers, all of whom are clinically trained as well as having higher qualifications in risk, safety and quality management and a working knowledge of key risks involved in healthcare management.
